Author's Notes: In the universe of of OMCC, there are two sets of twins, and one case of triplets in the family. Time and Fate are not included in this, but they get along just as well as siblings despite Fate's whole 'CHAINSBINDUSALLBAWWWW'. I think I just like writing about old men too much.

I'm not sure when this takes place in the movie, because hazy memory is hazy, but she was in there for awhile, ya? Note to self, next time you accept a crossover challenge, thoroughly watch/play/read and take notes on EVERYTHING.

Every door was either hidden by some trick of the eye, involved a riddle and dumb luck to pass through or simply didn't exist at all.

Except for this one, but Sarah was starting to develop a dubious nature about such things as doors. It was wooden and much larger than her in both width and height, carved in intricate detail the appearance of a wizened old man, covered entirely in what appeared to be a hooded cloak and grasping the doorknob. It did nothing for a time as she examined it, no unexpected blinking or chuckling at her attire.

It waited until she had started to attempt opening it that it sprung to life, the hands jerking upwards out of her reach, the mouth and all the wrinkles upon it turned to a frown. "What manners!" The old man cried, his voice echoing a strange duality. "You were going to snatch this from me, were you not?"

Sarah blinked, puzzled. "No," she said slowly, "I was only going to turn it."

"Even worse! Do you have any idea what's beyond me?"

"Well, I don't think I'd be trying to open your door if I knew."

The old man laughed. "An excellent answer! But surely, you must think this door is kept close for a reason besides an excuse to carve me into it, yes?"

"This place doesn't seem to really care about reasons." Sarah had seen talking caterpillars, another old man just like this with a talking hat and was trying to rescue her brother from a Goblin King from her book because of a wish. She would stand by this reason for a long time.

"That doesn't tell me what you think, Sarah," he smiled knowingly.

"...How do you know my name?"

"It's such an damnably useless yet interesting gift to see the past, written on ev'ry face I meet," was the answer, and Sarah raised an eyebrow at it. "Would you rather I could glimpse your future instead?"

"If it shows me a way out of, then yes."

The old man was pleased. "You've priorities, at the least." And he returned to the way he was when Sarah first saw him, then seemed to almost melt away until the wood was smooth. With a click, the doorknob turned of its own accord, and Sarah took the initiative to see what was beyond it.

The room was barely larger than her own closet, and almost egg-shaped. It was made completely of stone, and like the door that had once sealed it, every inch of the wall was carved upon. But the carving was unlike its predecessor in that instead of an old man, it was instead one of a young woman, constricted entirely in roots made of stone. Sorrowful eyes gazed upon her, pupil-less as any statue she'd ever seen. "The heroine has made herself known," spoke the woman.

Sarah wasn't at all surprised when it started talking, but rather was she said was what caused the double-take. "Excuse me?"

"That is your role, heroine."

"...Right." There wasn't really any point in arguing that. "I was told something about a future?"

"We are all bound like dogs to a master's whim, you need only find your place in these roles, heroine," spoke the woman, and for an instant, Sarah recognized a familiar echo in her voice. "Do you oppose the villain as a rebellious slave, or in retribution for his defiance?"

"...I don't understand."

"To explain more would lead to your own downfall. Like so."

The floor fell away and all around Sarah was darkness. It would not be the first nor the last time she faced such situations
